Retro Chet Trio Showcase the iconic album "Mr B" (part of the EFG London Jazz Festival): For this unique show the Retro Chet Trio featuring trumpeter and band leader Geoff Varrall, pianist Caroline Cooper and double bassist Paul Michael recreate the best of Chet Baker's session and live recordings from the late 1970's to the mid 1980's including music from the rare album "Mr B". As Matthew Ruddick notes in his excellent book on Chet Baker, 'My Funny Valentine', "Mr B" is a beautiful album in which Chet moves away from his 'bop' orientated sound of the late 1970's to a softer, more melodic tone that was to become a feature of his later recordings.
