Dom Pipkin’s “ Smokin’ Boogie, Bad Boys, Bourbon & The Big Easy”:
Renowned pianist and raconteur Dom Pipkin brings his highly successful West End Show paying homage to the music of New Orleans, to the Bull’s Head following his last sell-out performance.
A regular on the jazz scene, Dom has recorded and toured with Paul Weller, Ray Davies, Pee Wee Ellis, Guy Barker and Laura Mvula among many others over the years. The high-energy show features some of the very best in familiar and original toe-tapping New Orleans music, including numbers from such giants of the genre as Jelly Roll Morton, Professor Longhair, Dr John, James Booker and Fats Domino.
*“I can’t hold a candle to this guy. He’s a great piano player….” Jamie Cullum. *
An excellent showman, Pipkin’s performance embraces tales of love and tragedy, humour and hubris as he strides through the musical history of New Orleans with this breath-taking showcase.
“When Dom plays the piano, magic happens ……” Paloma Faith
