Featuring Tomasz Zyrmont • Ben Hazleton • Alan Short
After a series of vibrant duet performances that captivated audiences at the Bulls Head Jazz Club, pianist Tomasz Zyrmont, double bassist Ben Hazleton, and saxophonist/flutist Alan Short return in full force — this time as a dynamic jazz fusion trio.
Each artist brings a distinct voice and rich musical experience to the stage: Tomasz Zyrmont is a renowned London-based pianist, composer, and educator. A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music (Katowice) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), Tomasz has performed at the London Jazz Festival, Yamaha Music Live, Wigmore Lates, and the Jazz FM Discovery Show. He has led acclaimed projects including Groove Razors and the Tomasz Zyrmont Quartet, blending modern jazz with creativity and energy.
Ben Hazleton is one of the UK’s most sought-after bassists, performing internationally for over 25 years. A regular at top venues like Ronnie Scott’s, The 606 Club, and Pizza Express Dean Street, Ben has collaborated with artists such as Roots Manuva and Talvin Singh, and is the longtime bassist for Alan Weekes' legendary Sunday Night Residency at Uncle Sam’s. His versatility bridges jazz, hip-hop, devotional, and fusion traditions.
Alan Short, originally from Italy, studied under famed flutist Nicola Stilo and has built a vibrant career on the UK scene since 2003. A multi-instrumentalist, Alan has performed with legends like Donna Summer, Chic, Natalie Cole, and Sam Moore. He is a core member of Tomasz’s Groove Razors quintet and a standout soloist on both saxophone and flute.
Following their individual duet appearances at the Bulls Head - Tomasz with Ben, and Tomasz with Alan - the trio now reunites to present an unforgettable night of original compositions and jazz standards, reimagined through bold improvisation, deep grooves, spacious instrumentation and fiery interplay.
Expect an evening of musical chemistry, virtuosity, and cutting-edge jazz fusion from three of the scene’s most engaging performers.
Don’t miss their return to the Bulls Head stage - Friday 11 July 2025!
