Bassist Dave Jones leads this classic jazz Nonet with a multi generational cast showcasing some of the UK's finest jazz musicians including Henry Lowther, Mark Armstrong, Nick Mills, Tony Woods, Tom Ridout, Karen Sharp, Tom Millar and Tristan Mailliot with special guest Brigitte Beraha on vocals. The band concept is based on the classic nonet line up of 'three brass', 'three reeds' and 'three rhythm' augmented with vocals.
Exploring the Nonet arrangements of great American writers such as Bob Hammer, Marty Paich and Frank Griffith provided the inspiration for the band while Dave’s experience of performing with the Pete Cater Big Band, Ronnie Scott's Soul and Jazz Orchestra and the BBC Big Band gave a unique perspective on writing for this classic Nonet line up. Recently Dave has also been featured playing fretted and fretless basses within the much heralded band 'Hejira' which draws on the jazz repertoire of Joni Mitchell.
