Rí Rua celebrate St Patricks Day
Entry Requirements: Under 16s are not permitted in the venue. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Rí Rua are the house band of the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith.
This four-piece Irish traditional music group is comprised of singer, guitarist and bodhrán player David Kelly, fiddle players Lydia Whitehouse and Ali Monaghan and banjo player and guitarist Alex Markham.
With an extensive musical background in the ranks of Rí Rua (the Irish translation of ‘chanch’), this talented bunch of players have been performing together since 2022 and have appeared at venues including Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, The Irish Cultural Centre and The Caledonian Club.
All four musicians are regulars on the lively Irish pub circuit in London. Their most recent concert appearance was as ‘The Sessionists’ in front of a packed house at the OSO Arts Centre in November 2024.
Irish music has travelled with the emigrants who have spread it worldwide for centuries and continue to do so - from Bundoran to Boston, Ballina to Beijing and Belfast to Barnes. Join us for an unforgettable night, as we journey back to the Emerald Isle through heartfelt songs, raucous tunes and a generous serving of craic!
