EFG London Jazz Festival: Achilles Heel
Achilles Heel + Eve Buckley
Entry Requirements: Under 16s are not permitted in the venue. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Achilles Heel are a neo soul pop band from south London.
The songwriter and front woman of the band is Caitlin Pinkess taking the stage with her heart on her sleeve. With tender yet stirring vocals and unapologetically honest lyrics, she captivates her crowd. Bassist Lucia Sorrell’s reggae and neo soul influenced melodies allow you to melt into the music. Hillbilly Harry on keys brings a diva-ish flare to tinkling the ivories charming the crowd with every note. The bands rhythmic changes paired with jazz chords create a unique variation of neo-soul.
The band has been selling out venues in Falmouth and are now making a name for themselves throughout London. Achilles Heel have been working on recording music and their first single ‘Open up the gates’ is out now. The band is continuing to grow and develop and are fuelled by the power to move people with their music.
Support is from Eve Buckley.

Eve Buckley
Leeds based singer/songwriter and guitarist Eve Buckley combines a rich hybrid of alternative-soul and jazz infused pop. Capturing the tapestry of notions that arise through young adulthood, her timeless vocals and sentimental soundscapes are reminiscent of her inspirations that include Lianne La Havas, Jordan Rakei and Yazmin Lacey.
Her all-consuming storytelling and distinctive voice have captivated audiences across Leeds and the UK, playing the iconic Brudenell Social Club and supporting the likes of Rosie Frater Taylor, Yakul, and Children of Zeus at World Island Festival. Eve is now taking on slots at London Jazz Festival and Live at Leeds In The City on the 15th & 16th of November, as well as her debut Leeds headline at The Cardigan Arms on the 27th November.
