Melbury Music:
We are very fortunate to have Delia Antoine standing in for Isabel Saunders who is sadly unable to perform due to a family bereavement. Delia Antoine’s vocals are nuanced and rhythmically precise and she is supported by the ever-popular Melbury Music, this time featuring Duncan Lamont Jr on sax & clarinet, Marianne Windham on bass, Martin Bazley on piano and Andrea Serafino on drums. Melbury Music perform regularly at the OSO Arts Theatre and other London venues as well as at various social events. Delia’s confident, clear vocals breathe real energy into well-loved and lesser-known numbers from her extensive repertoire encompassing musical theatre as well as jazz, Latin and pop. Combined with the Poco Loco set this will be a very enjoyable afternoon!
Poco Loco:
A Barnes-based quintet that takes its cue from the heyday of hard-bop and soul jazz of the late 50s/early 60s. The line-up is the classic trumpet/tenor sax frontline plus rhythm first popularised by Horace Silver and Art Blakey. The emphasis is on crowd-pleasing, foot-tapping grooves across an eclectic mix of re-arranged standards and lesser-known gems from the period. Adrian Astor trumpet, Gerard Gregg-Smith tenor sax, Caroline Cooper keys, Paul Southern bass, Hakan Yazici drums.
