Noted bassist Dave Jones leads this classic jazz Nonet with a multi generational lineup featuring some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians including Henry Lowther, Noel Langley, Nick Mills, Tony Woods, Tom Ridout, Chris Biscoe, John Turville and Tristan Maillot with special guest vocalist Brigitte Beraha. The band concept is based on the classic nonet line up of ‘three brass’. ‘three reeds’ and ‘three rhythm’ augmented with vocals. Exploring the Nonet arrangements of great American writers such as Bob Hammer, Marty Paich and Frank Griffith provided the inspiration for the band while Dave’s experience of performing with the Pete Cater Big Band, Scott’s Jazz & Soul Orchestra and the BBC Big Band gave a unique perspective on writing for this classic Nonet line up. Along the way Dave's bass playing has encompassed the Way Out West Jazz Collective, the Stefanos Tsourelis Trio, Tom Seals, Brandon Allen, Paolo Lossi Trio and Julian Costello as well as performing with some of the finest jazz musicians in the UK.

Trumpeters Henry Lowther and Noel Langley are among some of the most treasured jazz musicians in the country with an amazing history of performance and recording behind them bringing a vast wealth of knowledge, experience and playing talent to the brass section. Trombonist Nick Mills is one of the busiest players on the UK scene nailing the bottom of the brass section down whilst bringing his expressive playing to the trombone solos. Tony Woods on alto sax and clarinet is one of the most creative of UK saxophonists with an individual voice and sound, his precision and sensitivity drawing comparison with Paul Desmond at his finest. Tenor saxophonist and bass clarinettist Tom Ridout is constantly creating a big impact on the UK jazz scene and makes a welcome return to the band along with Chris Biscoe on baritone sax and alto clarinet who brings a vast legacy of experience to his playing.

Completing this vibrant rhythm section along with Dave Jones are top pianist John Turville who brings the phrase ‘effortless mastery’ to real life as he interprets this music and adds his own magic to each chart along with master drummer Tristan Mailliot, one of the most versatile jazz drummers in the UK who brings both sensitivity and power to the drum seat. Vocalist Brigitte Beraha will be guesting for the first time with the band bringing a massive wealth of experience and expression within her beautiful voice to feature on some of the arrangements for this concert.
