Bull's Head regular, Helen Theophanous, ‘Jazz Helen’, returns to the Jazz Room with a very special guest the internationally acclaimed saxophonist & composer Renato D'Aiello who is making a rare trip to the UK. For over ten years he hosted Monday Nights Upstairs at Ronnie Scott's where Helen was frequently invited as guest singer and with whom she made the album “Amici”. Helen is joined by a stellar line-up of jazz musicians, John Crawford on piano, Steve Taylor on drums and Alex Keen on bass. Helen has an extensive and varied musical background and has been part of the London jazz scene for over a decade. Her voice has been described by Claire Martin OBE as “Classy, stunning, with drama and presence”, and her repertoire includes Ellington, Dankworth, Jobim and Bacharach. Expect exciting Latin rhythms and melting ballads including “Mas Que Nada”, “Desafinado”, “Perdido”, “April in Paris”, “Alfie”, “Body and Soul” and much more.
