Art Themen, a winner in the tenor sax category of the British Jazz Awards toured the world fronting the great Stan Tracey quartet for many years and for this special show for the EFG London Jazz Festival he teams up with Stan Tracey’s son, the much acclaimed drummer, Clark Tracey, who has recently been honoured with the prestigious British Empire Medal. Together, these two giants of British jazz will be playing alongside some of the hot young Jazz Turks out of Clark’s own band, the brilliant young alto player, Shawn Payne, bass player James Owsten, who was shortlisted for the young jazz musician of the year this year and the equally brilliant young pianist Noah Stone. This formidable quintet will be covering both the contemporary and the avant-garde sides of the music as well as putting a fresh new ‘jazz spritz ‘ into some well-known jazz classics. 8.30pm Tickets £13 in advance & £15 on the door
