The Sam Dunn Quartet Plays ‘Bags Meets Wes’
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Featuring Sam Dunn on guitar, Nat Steele on Vibes, Si Read on bass and Matt Home on drums, playing music from the classic 1962 album 'Bags meets Wes,' plus a few other musical treats. Guitarist Sam Dunn is a regular performer at jazz venues across the UK and Europe, and recent gigs have seen him play at Ronnie Scott's, the Vortex, the Albert Hall, the Cork Jazz Festival, the Legnano Jazz Festival in Italy, and has toured Australia with charismatic US jazz pianist Judy Carmichael. His eloquent, expressive playing recalls the bop-influenced virtuosity of Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery and Pat Martino, but with an exciting contemporary flair. This new straight-ahead quartet sees him team up with remarkable vibraphone virtuoso Nat Steele, to perform swinging arrangements of classic jazz tunes, original compositions, burners and ballads. Completing the quartet are bassist Simon Read and Drummer Matt Home. 8.00pm Tickets £10 in advance & £12 on the door
