Way Out West Presents Nette Robinson
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Featuring Nette Robinson, voice, Tony Woods, saxophones, Terrence Collie, piano and Dave Jones, bass. Nette Robinson is a superb singer, known for her impressive vocal range, incredible intonation and crystal-clear annunciation. Until his untimely passing, Nette worked closely with the inimitable, celebrated British jazz composer and pianist, Michael Garrick MBE, who delighted in writing songs for his muse - songs which were based on poetry or lyrics that told a story. It is with this topic in mind that she joins with her husband, the highly acclaimed saxophonist Tony Woods, the inventive and beautiful pianist Terrence Collie and the wonderfully creative bassist Dave Jones, to present a programme of songs which conjure up magical worlds, dreams and stories. This is guaranteed to be a beautiful and unmissable concert. "A very fine singer, very accurate, very emotional…." Radio 3. "Lovely, clear and unfussy…." The Telegraph. Way Out West is a unique collective of jazz musicians. Diverse improvisation, performance, arranging, composition, all come to the forefront in full force within regular gigs, as each collective member presents their work with stars from today’s jazz scene. 8.00 pm tickets £10 in advance and concession, £5 students & £12 on the door
