Ellie Bignall Quintet
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Recently described as a 'rising young star', London-based jazz vocalist Ellie Bignall has swept her way onto the jazz scene with a style of singing that is very reminiscent of the forties and fifties; often likened to singers such as Anita O’Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, Ellie combines a love of the Great American Songbook with a passion for contemporary jazz and composition. Featuring the talents of Ralph Wyld, Tom Ridout, Flo Moore and Rod Oughton, the Ellie Bignall Quintet plays on this, performing a combination of standards with a contemporary twist and their own compositions. Ellie has performed at venues around the world, including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, the London Palladium, the ZK Matthews Hall (Pretoria), the American Legion Speakeasy (Harlem), and the 100 Club. A recent graduate of the prestigious Trinity Conservatoire of Music BMus Jazz Hons course, Ellie was awarded third place in the internationally renowned Unisa International Jazz Voice Competition in Pretoria in February 2018, and was selected as a semi-finalist for the Voicingers Festival Jazz Vocal Competition in Żory in July 2018. Ellie has also been a principle vocalist with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain, with whom she performed around the UK and Europe. 8.00pm Tickets £10 in advance & £12 on the door
