Giulio Romano Malaisi Quintet
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Guitarist Giulio Romano’s musical style crosses the genres of Jazz/Latin/Fusion & World Music and is inspired by people such as Antonio Forcione, George Benson, Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny, Bireli Lagrene and Michael Hedges among others. From an early age Giulio learnt the classical and electric guitar from his teacher Mariano Gaetani and studied music theory under the tutelage of Alfredo Sorichetti. During those formative years Giulio developed an incredible capacity to communicate with his instrument, developing and honing his unique way of playing, mixing both fingerpicking and flatpicking techniques. As Giulio’s prowess grew, he found himself playing with and for high profile singers such as Kate Robbins, Pauline Catlin and Melanie Stace and invited to play in many top venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. These included a gala performance at the Italian Fashion week at London’s Royal Academy and in Paris at Le Bellevilloise with his band ‘Gypsy Dynamite’ for the International Jazz Day in 2015 and performing at the Django Reinhardt venue, Les Copes Des Puces for the Manouche Day in 2016. This is a great opportunity to see this amazing young guitar talent in a quintet format with Dom Pusey on saxophone, Nick Gilmore on keys, Nick Webster on bass and Daniele Antenucci on drums. 8.00pm Tickets £10 in advance & £12 on the door
