Helen and her top band warm up the festive season with exciting Latin grooves and songs of warmer days plus some seasonal favourites. Together with John Crawford on piano, Paul Martin on bass, Steve Taylor on drums and Tim Whitehead on sax, adding to the excitement the band is joined by special guest, Earl Okin, the noted comedian and guitarist who is one of the UK’s finest jazz and Bossa Nova exponents who will be bringing his own unique sounds of Brazil to the party. Over the years Earl has worked alongside everyone from Stephane Grappelly to Barney Kessell; from Cleo Lane to Adeleide Hall, gracing the stage of just about every major venue in London as well as performing Bossa nova in Brazil and jazz worldwide. He is simply quite unique and unmissable! Helen Theophanous, JazzHelen, has also performed in many leading London jazz venues in recent years having studied music at Goldsmiths and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and with award-winning Warner Brothers jazz recording artist Lea DeLaria. Half Irish and half Greek, Helen’s warm, passionate vocals can swing one minute and captivate with a gentle ballad the next.
