Aydenne Simone Sings Sarah Vaughan
Aydenne Simone
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Acclaimed jazz and blues singer Aydenne Simone has been wowing audiences for nearly 30 years …. jazz is her thing ….. swing is her life! This show in the EFG London Jazz Festival pays tribute to one of the giants of the jazz vocal, Sarah Vaughan, or Sassy, The Divine One, as she was nicknamed. When Aydenne was 6 years old her father gave her a Sarah Vaughan album, “You’re Mine You” produced by the great Quincy Jones and Aydenne promptly fell in love with Sarah’s voice and the rest is history. For Aydenne to be in a position to celebrate her number one idol and biggest influence in this special concert she feels is both a privilege and a delight. Aydenne sings and swings to perfection, her voice moving effortlessly from beguiling to bold to brassy to bluesy, always with the greatest respect for the lyrics she so wonderfully projects. “She makes the hairs stand up on the back if your kneck…..” Time Out Magazine.
