The Retro Chet Trio Plus the Raccateers Jazz Quintet play the Sunday Lunch Session
The Retro Chet Quartet
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Following on from the multi-venue success of their show, “Let’s Get Lost”, the Retro Chet Trio, with Geoff Varrell, trumpet, & Clive Brown, double bass, joining forces with Alfie Carroll on guitar, have recreated some of the great trio recordings of Chet Baker’s later years including the June 1979 recording “Touch Of Your lips” and the follow up album, “Some Day My prince Will Come”. The latter was originally recorded in Copenhagen featuring Doug Raney on guitar and Niels-Henning Orsted Pederson on bass. The Retro Chet Trio also will also be revisiting the September 1983 recording of the Chet Baker Trio’s “Strollin’”, by Horace Silver and the beautiful “estate” by Bruno Martino and the follow up “Chet’s Choice”, recorded in 1985. The Raccateers, featuring Chris Firmin, drums, James Werner, piano, Lloyd Jonas, bass, Mark Albrow, guitar & singer/songwriter Marie Herbert, will be opening the Sunday Lunchtime proceedings with some new songs and fresh takes on old favourites. Their exciting set that will take in the Gershwins and Keith Jarrett as well as one or two originals they hope will make you smile.
