Featuring Dave Jones, bass, John Turville, piano, Tony Woods, saxes bringing together three musicians and friends to play an evening of jazz drawing upon original music composed by each musician together with classic jazz compositions. John Turville has toured the UK and Europe with Gilad Atzmon and is currently working with Tim Garland’s Lighthouse Trio, Tim Whitehead, Guillermo Rozenthuler’s folkloric quartet ‘Rioplatenses’, Dog Soup, and the Koby Israelite Group. John is an experienced composer as well as a trained classical and jazz pianist, and as well as currently directing the E17 big band, he is also the pianist for many tango groups, including the Birmingham-based ‘El Ultimo Tango’ and Transtango, a multimedia project featuring Tim Garland and Eduardo Vassello. Tony Woods is one of the most accomplished and creative saxophonists currently in the UK leading a range of bands from trios to Big Band as well as being a prolific composer and a founding and active member of jazz collective Way Out West. Dave’s bass playing in recent years has included Ronnie Scott’s Soul and Jazz Orchestra, Pete Cater Big Band and the Stefanous Tsourelis Trio as well as performing with drummers Steve Gadd and Keith Carlock.
