Henry Lowther is one of the most established jazz trumpet players within the UK with a career spanning highlights ranging from playing at Woodstock to working with such top UK jazz musicians Kenny Wheeler, John Dankworth, Stan Tracey and recording with Bing Crosby, George Harrison, Elton John, Henry Mancini, Paul McCartney, Van Morrison and Sir Simon Rattle. In 2011 Henry was awarded a Fellowship by the Royal Academy of Music and last year, 2017, he was nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz Award in the category Services to Jazz. Way Out West is a unique collective of jazz musicians. Diverse improvisation, performance, arranging, composition, all come to the forefront in full force within regular gigs, as each collective member presents their work with stars from today’s jazz scene.
