Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
The Bull’s Head is proud to present an exclusive international debut performance featuring the talents of renowned Spanish boogie-woogie and jazz pianist Lluis Coloma together with the acclaimed London based jazz & blues songstress Aisha Khan. This Anglo-Spanish collaboration pays homage to the women who blazed their own trail in a challenging musical world, telling the story of some of the legendary female performers of Boogie-Woogie from the 1930’s and 1940’s through their own music. The show includes songs from the likes of ‘Queen of the Boogie’ Hadda Brooks, the extraordinary jazz pianist Mary Lou Williams and the ground- breaking Lil Hardin Armstrong, among others. Lluis Coloma is considered the best blues & Boogie-Woogie pianist in Spain, being widely recognised throughout the world as one of the greatest exponents of this style of playing. His music is unique, with a special personal touch that makes him an exceptional pianist and composer, combining traditional jazz & blues music with his unique Spanish and Catalan flavour. Aisha Khan sings American roots music, jazz, blues and rhythm & blues of the 1940’s/50’s with a nod to the glamour and sophistication of a bygone era and over 25 years of experience, coupled with an unrivalled passion for the music. Her current stunning debut solo album, ‘Aishaddiction’, on El Toro records is packed full of original material ranging from Doo Wop to Calypso. Together with Munel Alvares, double bass (Ray Gelato) and Brian Neville, drums, this very special show promises to be one of the highlights of the year.
