The Ellie Bignall Quintet
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Ellie Bignall Quintet: London-based jazz vocalist Ellie Bignall has recently been described as a 'rising young star' and is a principle vocalist with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain. She has swept her way onto the jazz scene with a style of singing that is very reminiscent of the forties and fifties; often likened to singers such as Anita O’Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, Ellie combines a love of the Great American Songbook with a passion for contemporary jazz and composition. A recent graduate of the prestigious Trinity Conservatoire of Music BMus Jazz Hons course, Ellie is currently focusing on her upcoming album, which will feature her quintet - Chris Eldred, piano, Tom Ridout, saxes, Flo Moore, bass and Rod Oughton, drums, playing a mixture of old classics and new compositions alike. Ellie performs regularly in some of Britain's best jazz venues and was recently placed third in the prestigious Unisa International Jazz Voice Competition, in her first ever entry into an international contest.
