Helen Theophanous Sings Bacharach on the Sunday Lunch Session
Helen Theophanous
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
For this special show, Helen and the band will be presenting many of the most loved Bacharach compositions with some very special jazz arrangements. Helen has her own tongue-in-cheek lyrics to the controversial “Hey Little Girl” together with many other Bacharach numbers such as “A House Is Not A Home” and “Alfie”. The songs of Bacharach are the soundtrack to the lives of generations and audience participation may not be avoidable! Bacharach and David received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for popular song in 2012, a tribute to their lifetime contribution to Popular Song exemplifying the standard of excellence associated with the Gershwins. Acclaimed as music's “Greatest Living Composer” in 2008 by The Recording Academy, Burt Bacharach continues to compose and to tour worldwide. Complimenting Helen’s sultry warm vocals will be Simon Wallace, on piano, Paul Morgan on bass & Steve Taylor on drums together with a very special guest, one of the UK’s top saxophonists, Tim Whitehead. Helen’s welcoming stage presence ensures that every gig is a memorable and enjoyable experience. Her regular Sunday Lunchtime series at The Bull's Head is proving to be among some of the most popular dates in the Bull’s Head calendar. Claire Martin, acclaimed vocalist, radio presenter and OBE says of Helen ..…”Classy ….drama…..presence ……”
