Denise Gordon + Tom Kincaid’s Three Bears Trio
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
A rare chance to see the hugely acclaimed UK born Gospel and soulful Jazz singer Denise Gordon who is constantly in demand on the International scene. Her inspiration stems from the gospel music of her Caribbean roots and the New Orleans influences of Mahalia Jackson and Louis Armstrong and her musical journey has seen her touring across the larger concert halls and festivals of Europe and the Caribbean, singing Blues, Jazz and Rhythm ’n’ Blues; performing at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Jubilee, at Glastonbury and “T” in the Park Festivals and giving an acapella performance for the Pope John Paul II before an audience of a quarter of a million. After years spent establishing a busy international diary, performing and recording with world-class music friends of both New Orleans and the New York Jazz Scene, Denise is delighted to be invited to play here at home in the UK. Her dynamic stage presence and powerful vocal style is ably complemented by the world class trio, The Three Bears, a first-class choice backing band for national and international artists across the globe. Pianist Tom Kincaid’s influences range from Errol Garner and Oscar Peterson to Dr John and Professor Longhair. Together with the much-feted drummer Jack Cotterill and noted bassist Jim Swinnerton, the Three Bear’s playing combines a traditional mainstream jazz sound with a swinging gospel and New Orleans R&B feel.
