Following the release of her debut album, “Diamond In The Dust”, 2016 saw the hugely acclaimed singer Purdy supporting Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on their UK Tour including appearances in London’s Albert Hall which received sensational international reviews. As a singer songwriter, Purdy’s creative partner is Grammy award winning producer Andy Wright, famed for his work with Imelda May, Chrissie Hyde and Simply Red. Purdy’s singing style is often referred to as ‘pop noir with a playful jazz twist’ whilst her sultry vocals and songwriting skills have led to collaborations with Jamiroquai’s Matt Johnson and Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse). Combining her unique style with nuances of Nina Simone, Nancy Sinatra & Peggy Lee, Purdy offers playful swagger together with a hugely entertaining onstage appeal for this special show which will include some romantic standards as well as some festive nostalgia. This is a great chance to see this much-talked about artist who has performed to 90,000 at Wembley, guested on the Royal Variety Show and sung with Jamie Cullum at BBC Radio 2’s Cheltenham Festival in the intimate surrounds of the Jazz Room at the Bull’s Head. Purdy’s red-hot band on the night will feature the much-feted trumpeter Stuart Henderson, guitarist Jamie McCredie, double bassist Tom Moore & drummer Dan Western.
