Inspired by the Jump Blues and classic R n’ B of the 50’s & 60’s this authentic eight- piece soul band’s slick combination of hard swinging arrangements and irresistible rhythms draws on the music of Etta James, Dinah Washington, Johnnie Otis, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Chuck Berry and Otis Redding. Fronted by charismatic band leader and natural showman, trumpeter Ralph Lamb, (a.k.a. Tub Frolic) and featuring the sassy vocals of Sugar T, the acclaimed singer, Clarissa Land, the band’s powerhouse vocals, punchy, hard hitting horn section and funky infectious grooves turn every show into a party. Sugar T & The Swells embrace the very best of UK music talent and the elite of London’s session players. Between them, the band’s collective performing, recording and television credits include Amy Winehouse, Chaka Khan, Jamie Cullum, Michael Buble, Tony Bennett, All Saints, Incognito, Beverley Knight and The Chemical Brothers among many others.
