SMC Presents Geromino play Neil Young & Steve Logan
Entry Requirements: Under 18s to be accompanied by an appropriate adult
Geronimo, named after a famous American Indian warrior and with a nod to Crazy Horse, is a four-piece band featuring Steve Logan who plays the best of Neil Young. They played the Cambridge Rock Fest for last two years featuring such numbers as Heart of Gold, Out on the Weekend, Old Man, On My Way Home, Tell Me Why, For the Turnstiles, Helpless, Cowgirl in the Sand, Don't Let It Bring You Down, Like a Hurricane, Hey Hey, My My, Cinnamon Girl, Southern Man, Cortez, Love and Only Love, Open Heart (a Steve Logan original), Love to Burn, Keep on Rockin in the Free World. Steve Logan is a Welsh songwriter and rock musician, working across the borderline between acoustic folk and hard-edged, high-octane rock. A song-poet, he focuses on the point where music and poetry meet; a song-poet being someone who is expressing their lives fluently and fully through their song-writing. Examples include Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell. Among younger musicians I’d include Thom Yorke, Ryan Adams, Laura Marling and Elliott Smith. I write songs constantly and am trying to build up a catalogue that records my experience. He'll be playing highlights from current album, Wanted Alive, in the first set.
