New Zealander Meredith studied at the Royal Academy of Music before exploring Jazz at The Guildhall and playing in many small groups and big bands. A senior music lecturer at Kingston University, Meredith balances her academic work with developing her trio and freelancing on the London scene. Dave’s bass playing has placed him alongside some of the leading jazz musicians in the UK, recent years have included Ronnie Scott’s Soul and Jazz Orchestra, Pete Cater Big Band and Maciek Pysz. He has also played alongside drummers Steve Gadd and Keith Carlock and is currently active within jazz education teaching at Richmond Jazz School.
The Meredith White Trio brings a wide range of repertoire and styles to the classic jazz piano trio format and delivers with a depth of expression and creativity. Expect original compositions alongside old and new jazz standards (from soul and pop repertoire), through swing, Latin and funk grooves and textures influenced by the band leader’s classical background.
The trio includes drummer Paul Cavaciuti and bassist Dave Jones, each bandleaders in their own right, who complement and support while bringing a unique voice to their roles.
